"pattern on raverly..."
By a patern on raverly for round about 9 to 10€ made from a unknown and unexperienced, selfnamed expert and then by a book for 20€. You'll get 20 patterns created by experts and read an corrected by technicians.
Why petiteknit never wrote a book with her patterns? 🤔😅
Because all the sheeps on raverly are buying one pattern for 10€ 😅
There are so many patterns that she modificate just a bit and sells under a different name again for the same amount of money.
🤑😂💰💵💸

"Ravelry deletes negative comments"
Bought a pattern I found in Ravelry "Grand Lace Tablecloth " via Etsy, where the Dutch version is sold. Found out pattern is available for free and free tutorials are available in YouTube. Looks like Ravelry does not accept such comments and Shaz from Handmade by Shaz, Guildova Designs and who knows how many more characters this lady has took over a copyright for a pattern still free available. No more purchases from my side.

"Great site to purchase patterns"
Beats Etsy, hands down.

1. Duplicate purchases aren't possible because they go in your library. If you try to purchase again, it shows already purchased. Etsy fails this one.
2. Randos can't contact/spam you. Your account truly is private. Another Etsy fail. Randos can click on your name from reviews you leave, message/spam and view your info.
3. No forced reviews; no popularity contests. Etsy fails this one, too.
4. Ravelry won't allow political stuff, regardless which party you like. not sure about Etsy.
5. Never needed to contact Ravelry customer service. Etsy fails at this.
6. Almost no pirated patterns (can't say none, since I haven't looked at all of them). Etsy is rife with them and a haven for pirated pattern sellers. Can't report; only copyright holder can contact Etsy.

"UNOOPERAIVE"
I reported months ago that I had lost my library. A library that I had spent a lot of money to build up. I was prompted to create a new account and I would be able to merge the lost pattrns into it. Of course, that did not work. When I contacted Ravelry's tech department, I was told my library still existed and that I could access it. Not true. I can't get into all my old patterns and other inputs and the company refuses to answer any of my emails. All telephone numbers are "unavailable at this time". A word to the wise, transfer your patterns to paper. Remember that? It's the only way to be sure you got what you paid for. I am out hundreds of dollars and the resource that I thought was reliable. Perhaps Ravelry should pay less attention to politics and more to their customers. Dismall service. I will use whatever source I can find as long as it isn't them. I'm sure there are more honest and professional resources out there and I will find them. I will also tell anyone I can what a sham this company is.

"What a gift is Ravelry!"
This site and its makers and keepers have been and are creating a marvelous opportunity for fiber folk and designers to come together to talk about projects, learn something new, find new items to create and so much more. I cherish this place and the creators who fill it.

"Huge Ravelry Fan Since 2010"
Been a Ravelry member since 2010. Love it. The folks here are supportive, kind, and encouraging. Learned everything I need to know about weaving on a rigid heddle on Ravelry. Never had a problem with purchasing a pattern. Incredible collection of patterns (many of which are free). Wonderful forums and groups on every topic. (Harry Potter knitting - you got it; Spinners who like to weave, you got it!) If you're new to Ravelry, keep in mind that the vast majority of knitters on here are individuals, not big yarn companies or knitting designers. Knitting/crochet/weaving are passions. If they post and sell patterns, the vast majority will be helpful, supportive, and honest. But they may also have day jobs, so you may not hear back from them right away. All in all, I'd recommend Ravelry to anyone that wants to learn about the fiber arts and is looking for kind supportive people to engage with.

"I love Ravelry!"
Ravelry is the best knitting/crochet website out there. I love the free patterns, and the way that pattern developers can become well-known through the website without necessarily getting their patterns in books. I also love the feature of being able to look at photos of other projects from a pattern. You can see how it looks on various body types if it's a garment, and then you can ask people questions through messaging.

"Terrible service - no response"
I have had an account on Ravelry for many years. I bought a myriad of patterns on that site.
After a sabbatical I went back and logged in with my correct credentials, but the site told me to give a new password. The only option to do that is the email address the account is connected to. To this account I do not longer have access.
Alternatively, you can message a responsible person, which I did. And then nothing. After several tries and two weeks waiting still nothing.
I do not longer have access to the patterns that I legitimately paid for with my hard earned money.
Absolutely terrible service.

"$#*!e"
People waste their time on making some stupid $#*! Website is unusable and constantly crashing. Making an account takes way to long and the whole thing is just a shambles.

"Really Poor Response"
Way back in November 21 I purchased a knitting pattern as a gift for my cousin. I made an error in typing her email address so she never received the pattern at this time - well, actually, she never has. This is why I need to let anyone purchasing a pattern for someone - don't make any typing mistakes! I have contacted the creator of the pattern numerous times (I've lost count) and also Ravelry. I feel very disgruntled at their lack of interest in giving me (or rather my cousin) what I paid for and not even having the courtesy to respond. I am loathed to purchase it again, as why should I support someone who can't be bothered with a very minor problem. It's not the cost - it's the principal of being ignored! Not a happy bunny. I will not be purchasing from Ravelry again - shame as there are so many talented creators. Buyers beware.

"I was a member"
I was a member. But I'm not any more and I don't miss it. Free you mind from liberal garbage. A site of political bias and wannabes I've been knitting and crocheting for 51 years and while the pattern database was nice, the people leave a lot to be desired. Censorship and bigots in sheep's clothing isn't for me.

"Ravelry is an excellent sight"
Ravelry is an excellent sight. I’ve been a user since the beginning- never had to pay a cent to use it and they’ve never been anything but helpful and accommodating. I absolutely recommend for anyone who likes knitting or crocheting.

"The greatest resource ever for knitters…"
The greatest resource ever for knitters (and crocheters!) I've been a member of Ravelry for many years and I use it a few times a week. To have this at our fingertips as crafters makes us extremely lucky indeed. It's an incredibly advanced database which covers pretty much every search you'd ever want to do to find patterns, designers, yarn, you name it. I love it!

Why do you call bipoc "white supremacist" if they support the president?

avatar
CarrieHopkins
August 27, 2019

“Here is the exact wording directly from Ravelry's site. It says, Support for President Trump is support for White Supremacy. Not only do they call over 62 million Americans white Supremists, they also allow projects supporting politicians who are Anti Semitic. Ravelry doesn't ban hate speech, they just ban speech they hate.”

“How interesting that I answered this question several hours ago, but now *POOF* my answer has magically disappeared. WHICH PROVES MY ASSERTION. This site is helping Ravelry suppress opposing points of view. What that means is, this site is not objective and cannot be trusted for accurate information concerning the businesses that are reviewed.”

August 27, 2019

“I would imagine that it has something to do with Ravelry insisting that their ignorant behavior be defended. Even if that means many will no longer take sitejabber reviews seriously. I mean, how could I? Sitejabber is now guilty of silencing dissenting opinions. Just like Ravelry.”

How do i download my free patterns?

avatar
purpleleopard554
August 15, 2019

“In the notebook section, go to your library. Choose your pattern and there will be a download button. Alternatively, for free patterns, on the main pattern page there will be a link to click to download the pattern or, if it isn't hosted on Ravelry, a link to where you can find the pattern on another website.”

Is it possible to retrieve my patterns in the library now that i deleted my acct right after reading that insult to conservatives?

“Thanks for continuing to support the hardworking artists who continue to support a safe, white-supremacy-free community on Ravelry! But without an account, there's no way to see your library anymore.”
