"Felt like just another ticket number"
I was disappointed with the designer marketplace. Finding patterns was way harder than it should’ve been, and when I reached out to support, I didn’t really get much help. The whole experience felt impersonal, like I was just another ticket number instead of an actual customer trying to use the site
"Such a welcoming knitting community"
I’ve been using Ravelry for years, my favorite part is how friendly and mixed the community is. People are always sharing tips, patterns, and advice without making you feel awkward for asking a question (even if it feels like something you should already know). There’s room for total beginners and experienced knitters who’ve been at it forever, which I really appreciate. It just feels like a cozy, helpful little corner of the internet.

"Didn't really find what I was looking for"
I checked out ravelry hoping to find a few simple, more modern patterns, but it felt hit or miss. A lot of what came up looked kind of dated, hard to follow, or just not really my style. I tried using the filters, but they didn’t seem to narrow things down much, and I kept seeing similar patterns over and over. I’m sure it works well for some people, but for me, I got frustrated fast and ended up leaving without saving anything.

I don’t know, I just got a good feeling from the support right away. They were friendly, easy to deal with, and made the whole thing feel simple. Really nice experience overall.

I really like the way Ravelry looks. It’s not super flashy or overwhelming, so it’s easy to find patterns and browse through projects without feeling completely lost. The pages are organized, and the photos stand out nicely. Some parts do feel a little old school, but I don’t really mind that. If anything, it makes the site feel simple and familiar. The only funny thing is that I can end up feeling kind of trapped once I start browsing, like I just keep clicking through patterns and can’t quite escape. But overall, it’s comfy and easy to use.

"Felt too confusing for a new user"
I tried using Ravelry and got stuck quickly. I went looking for tutorials and help pages, but they felt outdated and kind of scattered. Some of the steps didn’t even match what I was seeing on the site, so I just kept clicking around in circles and getting more mentally drained. The forum answers weren’t much easier either unless you already know your way around the site. Maybe it’s fine for people who’ve been using it forever, but as someone new, I ended up giving up. It just wasn’t helpful for me

I tried using the site on my phone and gave up fast. Searching barely worked, patterns wouldn’t open right, and the whole page kept jumping around. Maybe they just built it for desktop and figured mobile would be fine, but it’s really frustrating to use.

"Privacy settings feel harder than they should"
I don’t know, my gut feeling is that the privacy controls just aren’t as straightforward as they should be. I kept feeling like I had to dig around to figure out what was actually visible and what wasn’t, which made me a little uneasy. It works, but managing privacy feels more confusing than it needs to be.

I’ve had a good experience on Ravelry. Like... you know how some sites are full of weird scammy posts? I don’t really run into that there. It feels well moderated, so I’m comfortable clicking around, joining conversations, and just browsing without worrying too much.

"Good overall, but downloads can be a little flaky"
I use Ravelry a lot for patterns, and most of the time the downloads work just fine. Every now and then though, a file takes forever to load or doesn’t open right away. Usually refreshing fixes it, so it’s not a huge deal, but it can actually get a bit annoying when you just want to start a project. Overall it’s not awful, just not super reliable every single time.

"Useful site, but the moderation is exhausting"
I still use Ravelry for patterns and project ideas, and I do like seeing what other knitters are making. But the moderation feels all over the place sometimes. One post gets taken down super quickly, and then some rude comment just sits there like it’s fine, so I never really know what’s allowed. It ends up feeling like wasted energy trying to figure out the rules or second-guessing what to post. I get that they need guidelines, but I wish things were clearer and more consistent. It’s not a bad site at all, just frustrating at times.

"Helpful for stash tracking, but still clunky"
I mostly use Ravelry to keep track of my yarn stash, and while it technically does the job, it feels way more awkward than it should. Adding yarn takes too many clicks, and trying to find things later can be hit or miss. It’s one of those tools where you keep hearing that it’s useful and supposed to make organizing easier, but in practice it feels like a lot of vague promises and not enough smooth experience. I still use it, but I really wish it were easier to keep updated.

I really like saving my favorites, but after a while it gets confusing fast. The sorting feels a little clunky, and sometimes I end up losing track of patterns I meant to come back to.

It loads fine most of the time, but when it does glitch, it’s really annoying. These issues don’t happen often, but they’re still frustrating, and the company should have fixed them by now.

"Group moderation feels inconsistent"
I still use Ravelry and do like it for finding patterns and keeping track of projects, but the way some groups are moderated has been getting on my nerves. I’ve seen posts taken down almost immediately while other posts that seem basically the same are left alone, so it kind of makes you wonder if it depends more on who’s moderating than on the actual rules.
When I’ve asked about it, the replies from mods have felt a little cold too. I get that they probably deal with a lot, but from the regular user side, it doesn’t exactly make the groups feel welcoming. I still browse, but I’m much more hesitant to jump into discussions now
